1987
Born in Tabasco, Mexico. My mother is from Mexico City, which is one of the biggest metropolitan cities in the world. Upon arriving to North Carolina, she appreciated the space that the rural area offered and immersed the household and our yard with plants.
2012
Working as a teacher in the public school system I realized that lack of hands-on learning in the curriculum could be enhanced by giving kids an opportunity to learn about natural ecosystems at the same time. I applied and received a Blue Cross Blue Shield Community Sparkplug Grant which focuses on initiatives which will help communities become more active and learn about food resilience. With these funds I kickstarted a school garden.
2014
I supplemented my teacher income by working at a restaurant and found myself livening up the outdoor spaces with plants and planters. At this restaurant I earned the nickname “Profe” which is short for professor in spanish.
2019
Profe Urban Landscaping is incorporated in order to handle the increased demand from other restaurants and residences.
2023
We continue to bring lively installations to restaurants and homes in the Raleigh area.

I found appreciation for plants from mom.
I got into permaculture and aesthetics when working for school system after graduating from NC state.
Started a school garden and here found how to make soil cheap and how to teach students how to do it themselves.
Worked part time in restaurants and saw that they needed aesthetics to make things exciting.
Philosophy
We turn to nature for inspiration in our designs and color schemes; turning urban environments into lively pockets of colorful biodiversity. We focus on regenerative and permaculture practices and ensure our installations are visually appealing, cost effective and bio-friendly!
